Neversoft addressed this first when designing the sequel and all works properly now (essentially). One of the biggest complaints about the first game was the lack of proper fakie and nollie configurations. I don't think this helps you get more air, but it looks cool and I always liked doing them when I skated. The No Comply was another highly requested move. In the sequel, this was removed and replaced by the Boneless, an old school move. This was useful for getting that extra air to grind that rail that's just out of reach. By tapping Up + Ollie, you would do this move and would be able to get a little higher than a normal ollie. The No Comply & Boneless The first game had the Fastplant move. Up, Up + Grind will give you a Nosebluntslide They're not difficult, it's just a double tap.ĭown, Down + Grind produces a Bluntslide while It was a no brainer that these would appear in the sequel. It's not difficult but it is integral in becoming an expert at the game.īluntslides were missing from the first game and the players let the designers know that they weren't happy w/ this. "Ooh, maybe if I ollie out early and turn left I can start grinding that ledge which will lead me to." It also opens your eyes to things you wouldn't have considered in the first. It may take a little bit to get used to this new system, but if you're looking to smash records and finally hit that million mark learning this is a must.

Simply tap Up, Down for a Manual or Down, Up for a Nose Manual. The rare 300k move of the first can now be achieved much more easily. For instance, if you're grinding and the rail you're on ends, you can now ollie out of this grind, perform a Manual or Nose Manual and move on to another rail to continue the line. A combo that would normally end in the first game can now be elongated. This will allow you to string together enormous combos. Essentially a wheelie (hate the term), your character will balance on either their front or back set of wheels. The Manual The most important addition to the THPS engine is the inclusion of Manuals. Hopefully someone will benefit from the info contained herein. This may all be redundant, especially if you play the game often. In this section I'll be noting some of the gameplay features as well as the significant changes from the first THPS to the second. In any event, I'd like to try to cover some of the game basics here. It's not a conscious thing, I just fail to provide the groundwork info, assuming that everyone plays the game hours on end! :)
I try to cover everything on this site, but oftentimes, I post all the major die hard info w/out covering the basics that some people may have questions about.
